Macfarlanes advises Signal Capital Partners on its strategic partnership with Armen

Macfarlanes has advised Signal Capital Partners, a leading private asset management firm focused on private credit solutions for European corporate and real estate mid-market assets, on its strategic partnership with Armen, the European GP-stakes investor.

The transaction marks the fourth transaction for Armen GP Stakes Fund I and its second in the private credit space. A significant portion of the investment proceeds will be re-invested by Signal Capital's senior management into the firm's funds, including the third vintage of the Firm's special situations fund which is currently fundraising and has begun to deploy capital. Signal Capital's strategy, management and investment process will remain unchanged following this transaction and the founding partners retain majority ownership of the business.

The Macfarlanes team was led by corporate and M&A partners Alex Edmondson and Nic Page, alongside partner Tom French, senior associates Alice Temkin and Jonathan Hock, and associate Saujanya Natarajan in the corporate and M&A team, and partner Christopher Good and associate Jack Engelberg in the private funds team. Tax advice was provided by partner James McCredie and senior associate Eugene Atkinson. Further advice was provided by financial services associate Gemma Edey.
